A CYCLING enthusiast from York is planning to pedal from coast to coast in three days to raise money for a cancer charity.
Gary Clark, 26, of Huntington, intends cycling about 150 miles from Whitehaven in Cumbria to Newcastle-on-Tyne, setting off on Easter Monday.
“I will be doing it on my own and riding about 50 miles a day,” he said. “I train regularly on my bike, either commuting to work, riding out to Helmsley and even visiting Dalby Forest.
“I am doing this for York Against Cancer because I have friends and family that have suffered from cancer and recovered, and some friends and family that unfortunately have passed away from cancer. I think the charity does a great job in helping sufferers in the local area.”
Gary said he had already raised more than £300 but he was aiming to raise more than £500.
