FURTHER to my letter of March 10, I wish to alert readers to the European Commission’s public consultation on a Roadmap for a resource-efficient Europe.

This is part of the commission’s Sustainable Energy Security programme and a roadmap will be produced by June, 2011.

As consultations typically get between 50 and 300 responses, this is a great opportunity for readers to make their voices heard.

The consultation is multiple-choice and respondents can answer as much or as little as they wish. Those with little time might use the “no opinion” option for the first two sections so they can concentrate on the third, individual attitudes.

This section is about personal views, attitudes and behaviour as a consumer. It offers a chance to provide a missing link between policy makers and individuals who are willing to make lifestyle changes to become more sustainable.

The consultation closes on Friday, April 22.
