I WAS very sad to hear of the recent passing of Dale Minks (The Press, April 8).

York has lost one of its local legends – a person who took an interest in everything going on in the city and was a keen reader of The Press.

Indeed, the letters page will lose out by about 30 or 40 contributions a year.

As well as being into politics and Elvis, he had a terrific sense of humour – something you need for both, I think. York will be a poorer place without Dale.
