A 14-YEAR-OLD boy was shoved to the floor by two teenagers armed with a knife in York.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident at about 9.30pm on Saturday when the victim was walking along Chesney Fields, behind Gale Lane in Acomb.

He was approached by two teenage boys he did not recognise. One of the boys pushed the victim causing him to fall over.

The older of the two offenders then took what is believed to be a knife from under his hooded top and showed it to the victim. The boy then asked if he had any cigarettes. Both of the boys then left without taking anything.

The boy who produced the knife is described as being white, about 15-years-old and 5ft 6ins tall, with a spotty complexion and short ginger hair. He was wearing a grey hooded top.

The second youth, who did not speak during the incident, is also described as white, aged about 13 years old, and 5ft 4ins tall. He was wearing a dark hooded top and dark trousers.

PC Adam Fenwick, of the York Safer Neighbourhood Team, is asking anyone who might have been in the area at the time to come forward and phone him on 0845 60 60 247.
