STAFF from Yorkshire Air Ambulance have thanked a North Yorkshire air base for its heavyweight fundraising work.

Charity members dropped by at RAF Linton-on-Ouse to thank the station for its on-going support.

Group Captain Terry Jones, station commander, welcomed the helicopter and crew.

The relationship between the station and the charity began when flying officers Bobby Neaum, Mark Sharrock and Anthony Ellis set themselves a challenge to pull a three tonne Tucano aircraft along the mile-long runway at the base, and donations can still be made to justgiving.com/anthony-ellis

So far, they have raised more than £1,000 for the air ambulance, and will continue to support the charity throughout the year, and some money from this year’s Gala On The Green concert and air show at the base will also go towards the air ambulance.

Crew member Tony Doveston said: “We are absolutely delighted by the support that we have been given by RAF Linton-on-Ouse, and in particular the efforts of Anthony, Mark and Rob. “It’s great to see the ongoing cooperation between the military and the air ambulance, which will continue into the future.”
