SERVICEMEN from a North Yorkshire air base have been presented with an award for their support of the Royal Air Force Association.

The servicemen, from RAF Linton-on-Ouse, were awarded a national presidential certificate from RAFA, in recognition of their fundraising efforts.

The base raised almost £6,000 last year.

The certificate was presented to the men on behalf of Air Marshall Philip Sturley by the station commander, Group Captain Terry Jones.

Group Capt Jones said: “This is an outstanding achievement, and I was delighted to present the award to the team on behalf of Air Marshal Sturley.

“RAFA offers friendship, help and support to many members of the RAF family across the UK, and RAF Linton-on-Ouse plays its part to the full to support them.”
