I READ with interest Jennifer Bell’s article about the move to centralise calls made to North Yorkshire Police to the Fulford Road HQ (The Press, April 6).
As residents of Fulford may have noticed on Countryfile (BBC1), rural and semi-urban crime is on the rise.
Yet the Liberal Democrats and Tories in government seem not to want to give peace of mind to residents over the potential loss of the entire police team due to swingeing budget cuts.
Residents on their doorsteps have consistently mentioned how safe they feel in their homes in Fulford.
Why are the Lib Dems and Tories so determined to remove this feeling from them?
