A STUDENT from the University of York is hoping to be elected as president of the National Union of Students.
Thomas Byrne, a first-year politics student, is one of four candidates running for the position.
Mr Byrne is a co-founder of the campaign group Students For Tuition Fees Reform, which urged MPs to vote for the coalition’s reforms to tuition fees.
The new president will be elected tomorrow at the NUS conference, which is taking place in Newcastle.
