A MAN had several teeth knocked out and suffered cuts to his head and face in an assault in York.
The victim, aged 44, was attacked in the stairwell of Dunlin House in Elvington Terrace, off James Street.
He was taken to York Hospital with a cut forehead, a cut under his left eye, a split lip and a number of missing teeth.
Police were called to the scene just after noon on Sunday and three men, two aged 23 and one aged 26, were arrested nearby a short time later. All three were taken into custody for questioning and have been released on conditional bail as inquiries continue.
A 36-year-old woman was also taken to York Hospital for a check up but was not seriously injured.
