A YORK cinema boss is seeking permission for a restaurant to be opened next to his city centre movie house.
Kailash Suri, who runs the Reel Cinema, on the former Odeon site in Blossom Street, has applied to City of York Council to change the use of a retail unit at the side of the building.
It was previously used as a catering supplies business but is currently vacant, and if permission is granted, it would be let out to a restaurant operator, with the rent from the new tenant contributing towards the upkeep of the cinema.
Reel’s application said any changes would not alter the appearance.
