PUPILS are celebrating after having their Healthy Schools Award renewed.
Carr Infants School, in Ostman Road, York, was given the award by the Healthy Schools Co-ordinator for teaching the children what it means to have a healthy lifestyle.
Sue Bell, head teacher, said: “We are a very active school. Every class has an outdoor classroom, and the children do a lot of sport. They know what it means to eat healthily and a lot of them are asking their parents for healthy packed lunches.”
The school was also awarded the Quality Mark 3, which signifies it teaches the children basic skills, such as reading and writing, no matter what their ability.
