I WAS 18 years of age in 1953 and went to do my National Service.
After National Service the next big thing for me came in 1956 when I was 21 years of age and old enough to vote. I duly went and cast my vote on the first past the post, which was how it was done.
Now we are told the Alternative Vote system is to be used and anyone from my era who has been used to first past the post method will surely dispute that method, meaning that if your candidate does not qualify at the first attempt you may finish up with another person to represent you.
We need “no” to this AV method and, win or lose, I will take the result – and so should you.
