BOOTHAM ‘A’ took a major step toward their first championship since 1995 with a 6-1 win over Acomb ‘B’ in the York Conservative Clubs’ Carlsberg UK snooker league, which moved them four points clear with only one set of matches remaining.
The Bootham winners were John Darley, Chris Dower, Rob Barron, Tim Fillingham, Colin Robinson and Barry Rankin, pictured. John Ashwell (20 break) replied for Acomb.
Heworth ‘A’ kept up the pressure on the leaders with their second 7-0 victory, this time over their ‘B’ team, which moved them up four places to second.
The winning team was Jason Milner, Clive Whyte, Adam Scaife (38 break), Neil Wood (62 break), Steve Burdett (51 break), Kevin Gall and Nick Dyson.
