A MOTORCYCLE and a car burst into flames when they collided on a North Yorkshire road.
Police are now appealing for information following the incident between Catterick Garrison and Tunstall which left both the driver of the Volvo 850 and rider of the black Triumph Daytona motorcycle seriously injured.
The crash happened on James Lane at about 5pm yesterday.
As a result of the collision both vehicles burst into flames and were destroyed by the fire.
The driver of the Volvo, a 59-year-old man from Catterick Village, suffered burns in the incident and was taken to Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle, where he remains in a stable condition.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 41-year-old man from Skelton, in Cleveland, was also seriously injured in the collision and is currently in James Cook Hospital in a stable condition.
