A ROW has erupted between council planners and residents on a Harrogate lane which claims to be one of the most expensive in the region.

Plans have been submitted to build five large detached homes and three affordable flats on a plot of land in Fulwith Mill Lane, which was last year named the most expensive street in Yorkshire with an average house price of £1.2 million.

Harrogate Council hopes the development will address a critical shortage of affordable housing.
