TALENTED youngsters created this colourful mural at a York primary school.
About 24 Year 6 children created the artwork at Poppleton Ousebank Primary School to help promote cycling to school.
Pupils from the school had cycled from Poppleton to York, supported by Sustrans, the UK’s leading sustainable transport charity.
Artist Kirstie Briggs Bateman helped the children to create the mural, which incorporates cyclists, the River Ouse and poppies, the school’s symbol.
Deputy head teacher Justin Reeve said: “The children were very impressed with the mural and I believe it has really helped to encourage children to bike to school.”
Ms Briggs Bateman unveiled the mosaic at a special bike-themed breakfast at the school.
