Photographer
Allan Scott. We are extremely delighted with all the photos he has taken and would thoroughly recommend him to other couples.

Where did you meet?
We met on a night out in York five-and-a-half years ago. We were both out with groups of friends and caught each others eye in The Stone Roses Bar. We both later went on to work in there funnily enough!

What attracted you to him?
His dark brown eyes and lovely smile. He also made me laugh a lot.

Where did he propose?
Funnily enough it was on April fool’s day 2009 and was a spur of the moment thing. (He still tells me he was joking).

The Dress
An Ivory, strapless dress by Romantica from Brides Of York, with a short veil and jewelled bolero and jewelled belt. I felt like a princess!

He wore
A dark grey Prince Edward-style suit with a silver waistcoat and red cravat. He looked lovely. My husband is a huge Manchester United fan hence the fact that everything was red and ivory. I was lucky that red is also my favourite colour and the colours all worked fantastically together.

Bridesmaids
Rebecca Lowe, Nicole Williams and Laura Feetenby all wore long red dresses with gold sandals. They all looked gorgeous and did us proud.

Flowers
Arranged by Alison Massingham. All roses. Red for the bride and ivory for the bridesmaids. Red for buttonholes. They were the nicest roses we had ever seen.

Transport
A friend’s mum took me and my Dad to church and then me and Gareth to the reception in her silver Mercedes which she decorated beautifully. Another good friend of ours turned up in his decorated Mercedes to ferry the bridesmaids and my mother.

Reception
Marquee at the Blacksmiths Arms, Flaxton. The marquee was decorated beautifully and lined with fairy lights.

Tables and favours
The tables all had a vase with a red rose and candles. The favours were gold boxes with ivory ribbon containing champagne truffles. We had napkins with our names and the date, and we put disposable cameras on all the tables – for some interesting shots! Entertainment – we danced the night away to our favourite songs with a disco (DJ Ollie).

Honeymoon
Two fun and action packed weeks in Florida – still recovering.
