Photographer
Nick and Anne from Footprint Photography (www.footprintphoto.biz) 0845 459 2368. We wanted a digital copy of all the shots of the day on a disc for us to create our own album in the future. Nick and Anne provided exactly what we wanted with a combination of traditional and more natural shots of our friends and family enjoying the day. We are thrilled with the results.

Where did you meet?
As teenagers on a double date (he wasn’t my date either!). It wasn’t until a few weeks later that we met again at Dave’s local pub where I had got myself a waitressing job. One night after I’d finished work he took me to McDonalds! We talked for hours about anything and everything and I felt completely at ease with him. We’ve been together now for 12 years! I guess we have a lot to thank for old Ronald McDonald!

What attracted you to him?
Iinitially his good looks and his sincere nature… and I suppose me being 16, the fact that he had a car (admittedly his Nana’s) was a massive bonus!

Where did he propose?
On a weekend in a Yorkshire spa hotel on his return from nine months away after the Gulf War. It was a huge surprise. He’d asked my Dad’s permission whilst voyaging home.

The dress
White One Pronovias Collection 2010 White Lace with champagne satin sash. My dress to me was perfect. I loved every
minute of wearing it.

He wore
Royal Navy Officers’ Number One Dress Uniform with medals and sword. His naval friends did the same.

Bridesmaids
My older sister Emma, best friend Louisa and cousins Lucy (12) and Isabelle (5). They did me proud on the day and looked stunning in deep aubergine dresses that a friend of the family made for us. My sister was so amazing leading up to the wedding and on the day. I would have been lost without my family’s support.

Flowers
As my colour theme was pink and purple so my bouquet had sweet akito roses in pale pink with deep pink and pale purple roses and lavender. The bridesmaids carried pale pink sweet akito roses. The church was decorated with deep purple Lisianthus, which are my favourite flowers, and pale pink sweet akito roses and white carnations. Myself, my mum, sister, auntie and nan did the flowers in church which was lots of fun and was great to get everyone involved in the day.

Reception
Oulton Hall Hotel, Rothwell.

Transport
1958 Rolls Royce Silver Could II in original Tudor Grey and Silver and a Grey BMW X5 for the bridesmaids provided by Prestige Cars in Halifax.

Table decor and favours
Fish bowls with Bear Grass lining and floating roses on mirrors with rose petal scattering. Mens favours – Home-made flapjack parcels. Ladies favours – Homemade rose flavoured bath fizzes.

Entertainment
Boogie Down and the Smokin Souls (eightpiece soul band) who were fantastic. We’d seen them at one of our friend’s weddings a year earlier and decided they would be great at entertaining all of our guests, young and old.

Honeymoon
Two nights in Oulton Hall spa hotel and back to work in the Navy on Monday morning!
We have big plans to travel the Pacific Coast highway in the USA on a Harley Davidson next year for our first year anniversary.
