A YORK supermarket held a charity raffle to help disadvantaged young people in the region.
Sainsbury’s, in Fossbank, managed to raise £300 for the Safe And Sound Homes (SASH) campaign, which helps provide accommodation for homeless youngsters in North Yorkshire.
The top prize, £250 worth of Sainsbury’s vouchers, was won by regular customers, Davina and Eddie Hudson. Deputy store manager Mark Chatterton said: “It is a great opportunity to help our local charity, which provides accommodation for people at risk in the local area.”
The store raised a total of £5,400 for good causes over Christmas and New Year.
