A Selby clergyman who has worked in the area for a total of 18 years is leaving the town and going into semi retirment.
The Rev John Davis, a former vicar at Drax for ten years who has been team leader in the Industrial Mission for nearly eight years, is moving to Bridlington. He is hoping to take services in that area on a part-time basis and is also getting involved with the lives of older people in the life of the church.
John was ordained at York Minster in 1979 and has served in parishes in Marske, Pocklington and Sowerby near Thirsk.
He said: “I will be sorry to be leaving Selby, my home town, but looking forward to a new life in Bridlington”.
