GIVEN the Minister of Transport’s decision to resign from the Scottish Parliament because of the effects of the recent adverse weather, can we now expect similar resignations from members of Parliament attempting to run England ?

Can I suggest that City of York Council leads the way on behalf of local authorities? I and many hundreds of other people have been confined indoors for the past two weeks because even after two days of thaw our side roads are still impassable and downright dangerous if you are elderly or have to push a buggy or wheelchair.

At least in Scotland even the side roads have now all been cleared.
