CHRISTMAS came early for this group of youngsters and their parents.
Despite the bitterly cold weather, fundraisers young and old donned Santa outfits and took part in the first Santa Dash in Upper Poppleton.
Deana Massey, organiser and landlady of The Lord Collingwood pub, said they hoped to raise more than £500 for the children’s cancer charity Candlelighters, and she planned to hold the event again next year.
She said: “About 20 adults and children attended the event and I was extremely pleased with the turnout, given the weather. The atmosphere was fantastic.”
