The works department at York Minster has received a £600 donation from the Rotary Club of York Vikings.
The funds will be used to purchase additional tools for joinery and stonemason apprentices working at the Minster.
Rebecca Thompson, superintendent of works, said, “We are hugely grateful for the investment in our craftsmen and women.
Tools are an essential investment for our future development of the stone and joinery craft skills”
Ron Gatenby, of the Rotary Club of York Vikings, said: “We are very sensitive to the skills that the apprentices are learning and the tools available to them. This donation will help develop those skills that will contribute back to the heritage of York Minster.”
