CONTINUED snowfall has brought another day of widespread disruption in York and the surrounding region.

More than 300 schools in York, North Yorkshire and East Yorkshire are closed again today, and many people have again struggled to get to work.

Most buses are running in York, but the Grimston Bar Park&Ride (Number 8) is suspended.

City of York Council has also suspended its waste and recycling collections again.

Weather forecasters from the Met Office say there is not yet any respite in sight.

Today's Winter Wonderland event in Davygate has also been cancelled due to the severe weather.

Organisers had hoped to set up Christmas stalls, a Santa’s grotto with elves, mulled wine, live music and roasted chestnuts but due to the poor weather, the event has been postponed until next Thursday.

North Yorkshire County Council and police have urged people to take care today while driving.

No severe accidents have been reported so far.
