EVEN though giant images of his face are plastered on posters at railway stations all over England, Jason Varner, of Clifton, insists he won’t get big-headed.
Jason, a customer experience representative for Aviva at York is one of a few employees of the insurance company chosen to head up its campaign, You Are The Big Picture, which puts the spotlight on its customers and the company people with whom they interact.
His image looms not only at York railway station, but also Euston Station, Norwich Station and Commercial Road.
What is more, it is in a line-up of gargantuan heads that form a “wrap” around Aviva’s St Helen’s skyscraper in London.
Why 36-year-old Jason? Well, back in November last year he took a call from a customer in Scarborough whose father had recently died. She and her mother were having difficulty filling in a detailed claim form to receive funds from her father’s life policy with Aviva.
So Jason went the extra mile and the following day, a Saturday, visited her home, spending two hours with them, helping them to complete the paperwork. The result was that by the following Friday the money was in their account.
