Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust is appealing to community-minded local people to become life-saving Community First Responders.
Recruits will become part of an existing voluntary scheme, coordinated and supported by the ambulance service, which provides immediate medical care to people in the vital minutes before an ambulance arrives.
Volunteers are sought for Stamford Bridge, York, Dringhouses, Elvington, Bishopthorpe, Wilberfoss, Easingwold and Coxwold.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service will provide full training to successful applicants who must be over 18, physically fit and hold a full driving licence. The service is running a two-day course this weekend. Contact Neil Marsay on responders@yas.nhs.uk or 0845 120 3155.
