MY daughter and I decided to go to Harrogate for the Great Yorkshire Show, despite everyone complaining about getting there.

What all the fuss and furore was about, I don't know.

We left home at about 8.30am, caught the Harrogate train, took the free bus from the station and we were into the showground at 10am.

We also bought our show tickets on the bus going down, which I thought a very good idea ten out of ten for everyone who did the planning.

The train going down was packed, so we had to stand, but hey, on such a lovely day, into the show by 10am was brilliant, no complaints.

I also had the pleasure of seeing Charles and Camilla very close. Camilla looked very petite, both were really at ease, and they looked very happy indeed.

Leaving the show, as one bus filled another came along. We left at 6pm to catch the 7.08pm train. The train was about 35 minutes late but, after such lovely hot weather, who would complain?

Wonderful show, well-organised, well-run, thanks to everyone concerned, happy but tired out.

PS. Why does it only run for three days?
