I AM writing on behalf of my party, Keep York Local (KYL).

We are trying to build a strong base in York to make sure people whose families have lived here for generations have somewhere decent to live and have decently paid jobs (we are proposing a minimum wage for York).

It is also our aim to end the dreadful destruction inflicted on this historic city by greedy, profit-only driven builders and failed anti-York parties of every description who have sought and succeeded to marginalise York people in their own city.

It really is time though that people woke up and smelled the coffee here, because if more good people do not join our fight we will not be able to achieve any of our aims.

The response from the people of York to our initial campaign was greatly appreciated.

But we need people at all levels to join us in our fight for seats in next year's local elections.

We set up this party because, unlike any of the others, we care passionately about this city. But we have been met by a large slice of apathy.

If you believe you have the ability to stand in a ward for KYL and are sick of all the above please get in touch with us.

You are guaranteed a warm welcome from a friendly bunch of people.

Andy Bonner, Chief election strategist, Keep York Local, Bishopthorpe Road, York.
