A 100 per cent record earned Fishergate Primary School pride of place at the Girls’ Tag Rugby Finals Day at Huntington Stadium.
The Fishergate victory was the school’s third title success at the tournament in the last four years.
Teaching assistant Elizabeth Pitts said: “We are only a small school and do not have a large rugby league team so this is a great achievement. We would like to thank Adam Prentis, the York City Knights development manager, for all his hard work and the time he puts into working with many children in York primary schools.”
