Full-time has been called on the Primary Schools Football Leagues and the winners are now getting ready to do battle in the Champions League.

A goal-less draw with nearest rivals Westfield was enough to give Bishopthorpe the title in League 'A' after remaining unbeaten in a tensely-fought division.

Yearsley secured the runners-up spot in League 'B' with a 3-2 win over Woodthorpe but even the late flurry of fixtures could not shift Clifton with Rawcliffe Federation from the title place.

Hempland's two victories over Wigginton handed them the mantle of League 'C' champions without dropping a single point en route. Huntington finished second after a 1-1 draw with Wigginton.

Games mean glory for Acomb in League 'E' after they beat Tang Hall to the division crown because they had played more, winning five of their six completed games.

In League 'F', the title was in doubt until the last day when neck-and-neck frontrunners Skelton and Osbaldwick met. Skelton won 4-3 to go top and consolidated that with a defeat of Knavesmire.

But Osbaldwick hit back with an 8-3 thrashing of Knavesmire to claim victory on goal difference.

St Mary's came through the pack to win League 'G' with a 4-2 win over Rufforth and a 2-2 draw with nearest rivals Heworth to add a football gong to the hockey title secured earlier in the year.

And finally, Westfield 'B' beat Bishopthorpe 'B' 1-0 to nick the League 'H' crown,

All eight title-winners will now face off on May 20 at the New Earswick Sports Ground in the Champions League to find the overall kings of primary school football for 2006.
