NEW Earswick ARLC will attempt to end their Pennine League division one season on a high at home to Kippax on Saturday.

The All Blacks have long been assured of second place and promotion but have an after-match celebration lined up and don't want it to be spoilt by defeat.

Captain Jez Petch said: "There's nothing to play for in that sense but we want to go out with a big win in our last game at home.

"It's always a grudge match against Kippax. They did not turn up against Halifax Irish which meant Halifax got the points (which was important in them beating All Blacks to the title), so hopefully we can get a good win over them."

The after-match party will raise money for broken legged prop Eddie Keeping and teenage player Daryl Fogg, who lost fingers in a work accident.

Steve Perks returns after being with the Yorkshire squad that beat Cumbria 16-12 in the amateur County Championship, though he may struggle to reclaim his number one shirt after new-boy Lee Mapals scored a hat-trick from full-back last week.
