Joseph Rowntree School showed their strength in sporting depth at the Sherburn festival, with two sides returning triumphant.

The Under-13 netballers took control from start to finish, beating Barlby 10-4, Millthorpe 9-2 and Fulford 10-2.

The semi-final saw Jo Ro beat Selby 9-2, with an eventual 7-4 defeat of All Saints in the final earning them the silverware.

No sides could match up to the might of the Year 10 rugby union team as they won the trophy for only the fifth time in 23 years of the competition.

Both Aron Robinson and Ben Stoker ended up in double-figures for the number of tries scored during the tournament.

The U15 hockey team came top of their section to book a semi-final place against Sherburn.

They added a 1-0 win to the list before losing 4-0 to Tadcaster in the final despite the best efforts of player of the tournament Jenni Welsh.

Goalkeeper Alistair Coe was the star man for the Year 8 football team as his side saw their charge peter out with two draws and a loss.
