Regarding the letter about the Odeon Cinema (Odeon shame, April 19).
Never mind more cafes and museums, what about an ice rink or roller-skating rink for our talented York kids!
Sheffield, Hull, Rotherham and Doncaster have one. Why can't we?
There are a lot of talented kids in York and they have to travel miles to practise an up-and-coming sport that is recognised nationwide.
Come on, the powers that be, listen to the residents of York, open up one of the city's eyesores and make it vibrant and lively for our kids, instead of making more attractions for the tourists.
