AS one of the many families who may be penalised by local government minister Phil Woolas's proposal to cap City of York Council's budget, the consequent loss of services and the financial burden this will put upon us, I would ask that he reconsiders.
As York has one of the lowest council tax bills in the whole country, and is still awaiting the £1.25 million his Government admitted that we deserved, it would seem to me to be a vindictive move against a Liberal Democrat-controlled authority.
I would be interested to know how many Labour-controlled authorities are to be treated in a similar way, whether there is any political motive behind the decisions and what rationale is used to determine who is to be punished?
