AFTER making a complaint re the early morning service into town from Poppleton Road, using the number ten, we received a prompt reply which stated that at times of serious traffic delays, it was necessary to cancel late-running journeys to avoid driver hours being exceeded or to enable the driver to return to his or her proper running times.

The reason for the complaint was that two buses were cancelled, the 7.43 and the 8.03, although the outbound buses did pass on the other side. This happened several times during last week, leaving many passengers waiting and late for work.

At this time in the morning, I find it hard to believe that the service would run into serious delays, and quite arrogant of the operator to decide to just cancel the run, leaving customers stranded and guessing as to why there's been no bus.

The use of public transport is encouraged to help ease our city's congestion. Yet with such unreliable service, there's some way to go to convince us that First should be the first option.
