Dringhouses notched up their 15th consecutive home win in the Leeper Hare York and District League premier division after beating Old Malton 4-1.

They now need six points to retain their title or just a win over Thorpe - the only other side who could yet steal the championship - when the two sides meet in two weeks.

Two first half goals from Mark Woodward put Dringhouses well in command before the break. Danny Cocker extended their lead early into the second half and though the visitors pulled one back, John Lake sealed the win 18 minutes from time.

Dringhouses' next opponents are Kartiers, who extended their unbeaten home record to nine games when toppling Bishopthorpe 4-2.

James Tweedie gave the Selby side the advantage at the break and though the visitors drew level shortly into the second half - the first goal Kartiers had conceded at home in more than four hours - a second goal from Tweedie restored the lead.

The win was secured with further goals from James Barrett and Andrew Woodall with Bishopthorpe, who have now gone 13 games without a win, adding a late consolation.

Only one game in division one survived the elements, but Tockwith took their opportunity to take top spot after they beat Wilberfoss 3-2.

Three goals up inside 20 minutes, the first from Richard Procter, the second a Graham Hutchinson header, and the third an Andy Wilson free-kick, Tockwith then allowed the visitors back into the game.

Four minutes after the re-start Danny Johns pulled one back for Wilberfoss and six minutes later Richard Tinson hit their second but Tockwith held out.

Hemingbrough did their division two survival hopes no harm at all as they beat derby rivals and fellow strugglers Selby RSSC 1-0.

Reduced to ten men after just ten minutes, Hemingbrough hit the only goal of the game from Harry Jackson six minutes later. A feisty game cumulated in a Selby penalty two minutes from time, but the spot-kick was blazed high and wide of the target.

Civil Service have now been dragged into the relegation battle following their 3-1 home defeat to Moor Lane. John Kennelly hit all the visitors' goals in the first half.

A third consecutive draw appeared to be on the cards for Tadcaster Albion as they struggled to break down a stubborn Barmby Moor defence but they managed to shatter the deadlock just before the interval with a Dave Shaw goal.

The second half though was one-way traffic as Tadcaster tore home with goals from Darren Simpson (2), Darren Wilson (2), Shaw (2 to complete his hat-trick), Simon Watson, and the pick of the bunch from Andy Thomas.

The last time Melbourne and Norton met each other saw Norton win 7-2 to post their ninth consecutive division three win. Nine games on, Norton have mustered just another eight points, their latest performance producing nought as they were beaten 3-0 at Melbourne.

All the home goals came in the first half from Philip Harper, Greg Nesbitt and John Nesbitt.
