WITH the recent spate of copy letters I have received from the Planning Inspectorate, it obvious that the council of the University of York has asked its members to write letters to the inspector supporting the application for the development of its Heslington East campus.
With letters of support coming from such student-ridden areas as Alne, Oswaldkirk, Bishopthorpe and Huntington village, I thought those York residents from Fulford to Heworth, whose environment, homes and roads might actually feel the impact of a 50 per cent increase in student numbers, along with associated changes, might like to express their reactions.
The case number is APP/C2741/V/05/1189972 and the address is: Miss Sian Evans, Case Officer, The Planning Inspectorate, Room 4/04 Kite Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PN.
The inquiry is due to start on April 25 with 23 witnesses from the university and ten from the city council supporting the application. Other parties are likely to get a word in during September.
