YORKSHIRE County Cricket Club vice-president and long-serving committee member, Tony Cawdry, has died at the age of 74.
Cawdry, from Elland, first joined the Yorkshire general committee in 1975 and served continuously until it was disbanded in 2003 when the new Management Board took over the running of the club.
He was then elected as a members' committee representative and was due to stand down from office at the club's annual meeting next Saturday, March 25.
Yorkshire chairman, Robin Smith, said: "I knew Tony for 25 years and throughout that time he was a dedicated Yorkshire supporter who gave outstanding service to the club and he will be greatly missed."
