THE proposed new road for the A1079 will be a waste of money because all it will do is make more road traffic (March 14).
The best solution for between Wilberfoss and York is to reopen the York-Beverley railway line because it goes close to Wilberfoss. They should have park-and-rail at stations such as Wilberfoss, Market Weighton and Pocklington. That will take road traffic off going into York. For people going to the University of York, they can reopen the railway line through Tang Hall to Dunnington with the station at Osbaldwick. This is forward thinking.
