YORK City boss Billy McEwan has emphasised that the greatest incentive for victory at Canvey Island tomorrow is three more points rather than equalling a club record.

The Minstermen will emulate Tom Lockie's 1964/65 history-making side if they can rack up a seventh successive league victory in Essex but McEwan will not celebrating any records until the season is over.

He said: "We have another game that we need to try and win and, if we do, what will be, will be. The time to be looking at what we have achieved will be at the end of the season. The biggest incentive tomorrow is the three points if we win the game."

McEwan will be hoping to field an unchanged side at Canvey although midfielder Mark Convery struggled through injury to play 80 minutes in last Saturday's 1-0 victory over Gravesend and Northfleet and Neal Bishop has missed training this week through illness.

The City manager is also considering whether to recall right-back Jamie Price to the squad even though he has been unable to play a reserve game because of the weather after being sidelined for three-and-a-half months with a hernia problem.

McEwan said: "We were hoping to add Jamie to the squad because our squad is thin and he might have to just come straight back in from injury like Manny Panther did but he's had a bit of a setback so we will have to see how he is."

Reserve regulars Ashley Winn and Stephen Baynes have joined Stalybridge Celtic on loan until the end of the season.
