SIX York Under-15 schoolboy footballers have been picked to represent North Yorkshire after a round-robin trial tournament at Thirsk School.
Tadcaster Grammar 'keeper Lewis Graham was selected alongside schoolmates Chris Green, Christian Derrick and Tom Wilson. Andy Green of Millthorpe, and Brayton College student Daniel Coult also made the grade with Chris Storey (Millthorpe), Matt Tasker (All Saints) and Jack Crowley (Tadcaster) all earning a training invitation next month.
The cream of York tackled their Harrogate, Hambleton and Scarborough counterparts and came away with two wins and a draw from their three 30-minute matches.
Coult equalised for York against Hambleton and Crowley followed it up with just five minutes left on the clock for the first win, while Coult, Crowley and a Wilson free-kick helped York to a 3-1 triumph over Scarborough with the final against Harrogate ending goalless.
