MICK Cook says his team must concentrate on Wednesday night's Powergen Challenge Cup rematch before the club can start to think about the fourth round.

The Knights have been paired away to the winners of tonight's rearranged Swinton Lions v Sheffield Eagles tie, but first face their own rescheduled third-round match against amateurs Ovenden at the Shay, Halifax.

That game takes place on Wednesday night (8pm) and club chiefs were hopeful the snow would have relented by then, allowing the fixture to go ahead.

The Knights were drawn away from home in the Challenge Cup for the eighth consecutive time last night - their last home draw was against Villeneuve in the third round of 2004. Cook, though, was more concerned with tomorrow's task.

"We're not in the next round yet are we?" he said. "You only have to look at what happened to Workington to know we can't take anything for granted."

The Cumbrian National League club were knocked out of the cup by amateurs Thornhill on Saturday, and Cook added: "We know we will have to earn the right to go through tomorrow night and we will be just as prepared for tomorrow night as we were for Sunday."

Tomorrow's replay will have a knock-on effect on the Knights' important Northern Rail Cup game at Hull KR on Sunday and Cook admitted his team selection tomorrow might be affected by the short turnaround between games.

"It's not ideal but we have to deal with it," he said. "That's how it goes. It would be nice to go to Hull KR with a full week's rest but that's not the case now.

"Ovenden want to keep the home draw and you have to respect that, and Wednesday is the only day the Shay can do it."

As for possible team changes, he said: "We haven't actually got a lot of players spare at the moment and while tomorrow's game will be a physical one and quite a tough one, hopefully we will get through injury free.

"But we have got some players who will be fresh and there are some options for us for the two games.

"It will be good to get tomorrow's game played and out of the way so here's hoping the weather is okay to us."

The squad were to train tonight - possibly an indoor session given the weather - but the usual Thursday night session is likely to be used for recuperation, meaning they will train just once together, on Saturday morning, to prepare specifically for the Hull KR game.
