I WAS asked for and submitted a 600-word article for a Brussels magazine on the complex subject of prostitution and people trafficking.
The UK press and media picked it up which pleased me because it was an opportunity to air this difficult subject I hoped in a responsible and informed way.
The BBC came to my office and interviewed me for seven minutes. I made a number of observations which I thought constructive and helpful.
The clip the BBC showed lasted about 50 seconds.
I despair at the sensationalising of this subject and women's issues generally by public service broadcasting. How can we get honest debate when editors and presenters of public service broadcasting are locked into a 1970s feminist time warp?
How can we progress women's issues when only personal political advantage is the goal?
