Heworth stretched their unbeaten run to nine games with a 3-1 win at Stillington to move clear at the top of Leeper Hare York and District League Reserve 'C'.
Goals by Martin Broom and James Dexter (2) enabled them to open up a five-point gap on their closest rivals.
Ouseburn, whose late run last season earned them the Reserve 'D' title, are emerging as Heworth's biggest threat after they hammered second-placed Norwich Union 5-0.
At the other end of the table, York RI, with first half goals from Dave Clark, Luke Richardson and an own goal, beat basement side LNER Builders 3-1. Mark Rollinson netted for Builders with a penalty.
