Oh dear, once again somebody who appears to think the law applies to everybody except them.
RD Watson (Letters, March 1) does not say what they were passing and why, or what speed they were doing - and obviously they could not have looked in their mirror properly or they would have seen the police vehicle (unless it was unmarked).
By RD Watson's own admission it was a wet night. Surely this alone says caution to any responsible driver.
I have made motoring mistakes for which I received a fine and points as well.
I knew I was doing wrong and had to accept the consequences - as I believe your correspondent should have known.
