RELEGATION-HAUNTED Scarborough have been helped out by Leeds United manager Kevin Blackwell this week.
With pitches in the Scarborough area frost and snowbound, the Seasiders turned to Blackwell, who was the club's goalkeeper when they won automatic promotion to the Football League in 1987, for help.
Boro boss Neil Redfearn said: "Kevin has been very helpful and allowed us to use the fantastic facilities at the Thorp Arch complex as there has been nowhere outside for us to train anywhere near the coast."
Boro will be trying to win their first home game since November 27 when Canvey Island visit the McCain Stadium tomorrow (3pm) - provided the pitch is playable.
Redfearn has injury doubts over goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin and key defender Denny Ingram while skipper Lee Fowler is definitely out with a hamstring problem.
Redfearn will be talking to experienced utility player Paul Warhurst about a move to Scarborough today and he could be in the squad if terms can be agreed. Warhurst has just been freed by Wrexham.
Scarborough: Dunbavin, Lyth, Ingram, Atkinson, Nicholson, Pounder, McClare, Hughes, McNiven, Coulson. Walker, Redfearn, Baker, Hackworth, Warhurst, Weaver.
