I PAID my irregular visit to the This Is York website from my home here in Northern Cyprus and was greeted by the photograph of Coun Ann Reid promoting what I took to be lower car park fees in Foss Islands car park announced in January.
Apart from the fact that City of York Council is in a world of its own regarding the extortionate charges levied on residents and visitors alike, I would never ever park again in Foss Island car park - unless I wanted my car trashed, stolen or simply suffering a smashed window just for "the fun of it".
To make matters worse, the council employees who go around issuing tickets to the poor souls who have outstayed their welcome in York never seem to see anything.
