MIDFIELDER Steve Thomas was set to make his York City debut at Exeter City this afternoon having signed for the Minstermen late yesterday.
The former Welsh Under-21 international, who played alongside current Premiership stars Craig Bellamy and Simon Davies for his country, has agreed terms with City after a trial and also after having reached a financial agreement over his contract at his last club Darlington.
His final appearance for the League Two outfit was on January 7 during a 3-2 defeat at Notts County, but his chances with the Quakers have been limited to 20 matches over the last two seasons after his first year was plagued by injury.
Thomas, 26, started his career at Wrexham and scored nine goals in 127 outings for the Welshmen between 1997 and 2004.
He was born in Hartlepool but qualified to play for Wales through his father.
