LAST year I contacted Councillor Hyman with negative comments on the state of our cul-de-sac's road and pavement surfaces.

My neighbour has lived here for 20-plus years and remembers that no repairs or resurfacing have been carried out in that time.

To give Coun Hyman his due, he inspected the road, saying the surfaces were not immediately dangerous and no funding was available anyway until 2006.

We spoke again recently and the same story - no funding available for 2006/2007. Do we have to wait until someone injures themselves and sues City of York Council before repairs are carried out?

Is this a case of put up - even though we pay up? Rest assured city council, I will make sure that you pay up if these bad conditions cause an injury to me or mine.
