RE my earlier letter concerning the Gables and the minibus fund (February 2).
One of the team who handled this matter kindly contacted me and explained what had happened to the fund.
It would seem the suggestion that the National Health Service could claim the fund is invalid, and I am sure that all concerned will be pleased to learn the fund has been wholly appropriated to four community units for the elderly. This was all done before the closure of the Gables was announced.
Undoubtedly I will not be alone in welcoming this information and I would like to thank the member of the Friends of the Gables team for coming forward with the facts.
